Armidale is spelled with an i in the middle, worth checking before you order, because Armadale in Melbourne is 3143 and Armadale in Perth is 6112. Armidale itself is 2350, and so are West Armidale and a wide ring of rural localities, Dumaresq, Invergowrie, Kellys Plains and Hillgrove among them, so a country address needs its locality name as well as the number. Guyra, north up the New England Highway, is 2365.
Both towns are in Armidale Regional Council, formed in 2016 when Armidale Dumaresq and Guyra Shire merged, in the Northern Tablelands. The University of New England has its main campus here and Armidale Hospital is on Rusden Street, so a gift list can run from student housing to a hospital roster.
