Sunnycliff Estate

Sunnycliff Estate is a winery that exudes all of the warm and generous flavours for which Australian wines are renowned. Their name exemplifies the sunny nature of these wines which are styled to complement our easy going Australian lifestyle. It is also a nod to the sunny cliffs seen on the banks of the Murray River, near where these wines are grown and crafted. Sunnycliff Estate wines are consistent in quality and style – vintage after vintage. The combination of skilled winemaking, coupled with leading edge viticulture, all contribute to the quality of these contemporary Australian wines.

Katnook Estate

Katnook Estate lies in the heart of the absolutely beautiful Coonawarra region in South Australia. With a history stretching all the way back to 1867, Katnook has two wines in the prestigious Langton’s Classification of Australian Wines, two Jimmy Watson trophies and a five star rating in James Halliday’s Wine Companion 2019.

Azahara

Azahara derives from the Spanish word for ‘orange blossom’. Sourced from their estate these Victorian vineyards are interspersed with citrus, mango and avocado groves – Azahara symbolises the unique location of their vines. Their claim to fame is being the official wine for the Arts Centre Melbourne High Tea Series 2018 with a glass of our bubbles served on arrival. Azahara wines are fashioned to partner bright, fresh dishes and bright, fresh company. Its natural companion is healthy Mediterranean cuisine but a friendship is developing with exotic food of the orient.

Yering Estate

Yering Station is located in the heart of the Yarra Valley, only one hour’s drive from Melbourne. Yering Station wines are founded on the bridging point between old and new. In every aspect of making of their wines they employ and respect traditional, age-old techniques and enhance them with their own brand of progressive winemaking, style and sophistication.

Brown Brothers

Brown Brothers is one of Australia’s leading family-owned wine brands. They pride themselves on their traditions; however are not a traditional wine company. They are steeped in family heritage, and have a history of innovation that inspires their future direction. The Brown family has been making wine in Milawa, Victoria since 1889. Founded by John Francis Brown, it was under the guidance of his son, John Charles Brown that Brown Brothers really established its reputation as a producer willing to experiment with innovative grape varieties.

Frequently asked questions

Which Australian wineries does Hampers With Bite feature?

We source wines from respected Australian producers including Sunnycliff Estate near the Murray River, Katnook Estate in the Coonawarra region of South Australia, Azahara from Victoria, and Yering Station in the Yarra Valley. We look across Australia to select quality wines for our gift hampers and boxes. Each winery brings its own regional character to the range.

What is Katnook Estate known for?

Katnook Estate sits in the heart of the Coonawarra region in South Australia and has a history dating back to 1867. It has earned strong recognition, including wines in Langton's Classification of Australian Wines, two Jimmy Watson trophies and a five-star rating in James Halliday's Wine Companion. These credentials make its wines a standout inclusion in a premium wine gift hamper.

How do you choose the wines for your gift hampers?

Selecting the very best wines is one of our favourite parts of the work, and we look right across Australia to source quality bottles for our hampers and boxes. We focus on consistent producers and regional styles that complement gourmet food. This means the wine in a Hampers With Bite hamper is chosen to pair well with the treats it accompanies.

What food goes well with the wines in your hampers?

Different wines suit different pairings, so a fresh, bright style like Azahara works well with Mediterranean and lighter dishes, while a richer red such as a Coonawarra shiraz suits heartier food and cheese. Our gourmet hampers combine wine with complementary chocolates, nuts and savoury snacks. This lets the recipient enjoy a ready-made food and wine match.

Do you offer wine gift hampers for special occasions?

Yes, a wine gift hamper suits occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, thank-you gifts, corporate gifting and seasonal celebrations. Pairing a quality Australian wine with gourmet treats makes a generous and memorable present. Hampers With Bite offers a range of wine and sparkling hampers so you can match the gift to the occasion.

Can I send a wine gift hamper anywhere in Australia?

We deliver wine and gourmet hampers across Australia, so you can send one to friends, family or clients in another state. Every order also includes a free personalised gift card for your message. Choose Standard or Express delivery at checkout depending on how quickly you would like it to arrive.

Are there age restrictions on receiving a wine gift hamper?

Yes, hampers containing alcohol can only be received by someone aged 18 or over, in line with Australian law, so the recipient may need to provide identification on delivery. If the gift is for someone under 18 or who prefers no alcohol, we offer hampers featuring gourmet food and treats instead. This makes it easy to choose a suitable gift for any recipient.

Which Australian wine regions are best known for gift-quality wine?

Regions such as Coonawarra in South Australia and the Yarra Valley in Victoria are highly regarded, with Coonawarra known for structured reds and the Yarra Valley for elegant cool-climate wines and sparkling. These regions feature among the wineries we draw on for our hampers. Choosing a wine from a recognised region adds a sense of provenance to a gift hamper.
